Two races. Two poles. Two overall wins. Jules Caranta and the No. 18 Forbush Performance Duqueine D09 swept the season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta—and set the fastest P3 lap in both races.

Thursday delivered Jules’ first IMSA victory on his first sprint start. Friday put him under pressure from the newly crowned P3 champion, then gathered the field for a restart with fewer than five minutes remaining. Jules answered both challenges with a win.

Thursday: the breakthrough.

A 1:15.429 qualifying lap put the No. 18 on pole for the first IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge race. Jules led ahead of Danny Soufi, then Oscar Tunjo. When Soufi’s car slowed with 24 minutes remaining, a caution erased the gaps and brought the field back together.

The restart left 18 minutes to finish the job. Jules pulled away, building an 11.781-second margin over Tunjo by the checkered flag. Tunjo secured the P3 championship that day; Jules took the race win.

The No. 18 also recorded the fastest P3 race lap, a 1:16.823. Qualifying speed had carried through to the race, and Forbush Performance finished Thursday on the top step.

Friday: hold the line.

Jules started from pole again, with his second-fastest qualifying lap of 1:15.713 setting the Race 2 grid position. This time, Tunjo stayed close and made repeated attempts to take the lead. Jules held him off.

A caution with 10 minutes remaining brought one last reset. The field went back to green with fewer than five minutes left. Every advantage had to be earned again, with Tunjo right behind the No. 18.

Jules kept the lead and opened enough of a gap to cross the line 2.031 seconds clear. Soufi finished third. The fastest P3 lap belonged to Jules again, at 1:17.186. The sweep was complete.

Finish at the front.

At COTA, Matt Forbush and Jules showed the D09’s potential with the fastest P3 race lap. At Road America, their second weekend together brought third overall and second in Bronze Cup. Road Atlanta carried that progress to two overall victories.

The team closed the season with speed in qualifying, pace after the restarts and the ability to defend the lead when the fight tightened. Two poles. Two wins. The No. 18 finished exactly where Forbush Performance aims to race: at the front.
